Kokrajhar is a town in
the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts in Assam, a huge territory in the north
eastern states of India. It is the headquarters and capital of BTC (Bodoland
Territorial Councils). Kokrajhar is situated on the banks of the river Gaurang.
It is located at 26.4 degree North and 90.27 o East. The main
inhabitants of Kokrajhar are the Bodos, Nepalese, Assamese, Bengalis, Santhalis
and many more. The tea tribes are also seen in the tea gardens areas.

REACH KOKRAJHAR:
We can reach Kokrajhar through both road and rail ways. Anyone
can reach Kokrajhar by any Assam bound train. Kokrajhar is served by the Assam
State Transport Corporation, Bodoland Transport Service buses, private buses
and many more transport services to different parts of Assam. The Kokrajhar
Railway Station is on the New Jalpaiguri-New Bongaigaon section of
Barauni-Guwahati line which is under the NFR(Northeast Frontier Railway) that
service to different parts of India like Guwahati, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata,
New Delhi, etc. Some of the important trains of India like the Rajdhani
Express, North East Express, Garib Rath Express stop at Kokrajhar Railway
Station. Kokrajhar does not have its own
airport. Its nearest airport is Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport which
is located at Guwahati.
